sorry for the lack of news but so many bad things happened, one right after the other, that it was impossible for me to deal with everything at the same time.

to make a long story short, i had to face some very old & painful memories i thought i had been able to sort of forget, then my dearest friend had to go to the hospital in emergency and just when things were finally going better for him, a very dear friend of mine died.

no need to say that all this sort of drove me crazy and i really needed to take things slowly.

but things are going better and better everyday! my dear friend is at least doing perfectly fine now, my best friend Stéphanie will be living in Japan for a year, i have a brand new computer (my own computer for the first time, i am proud of that :p) and i will be moving to my new little home very soon, now that everything has been cleaned!

it is just weird to see this place so empty. as i moved here by train, i could only take the most important things to live with my friend until i could find a great place, so i had to leave my huge collection of CLAMP's works at home in the south west :p

anyway! it is good to be back :)

it is 7:00 am here, i just woke up and they are saying it on TV: SHE DID IT!! Marion won the Academy Award for best actress!!!

i am so happy, SO happy!! i was dreaming to see her win one one day and i still can not believe it happened so quickly. i know it is completely stupid but i am crying like a baby in front of the tv screen...

sorry for the lack of news, but my best friend has not been feeling fine during the last few weeks and had to go to hospital in emergency so i have been taking care of him while working on "ENCHANTED".

he is doing much better now, though we are not 100% sure that everything is fine now.

they just told on tv here that Michael Jackson and Barbra Streisand will be the "godfathers" (i do not know if you use this in english?) of STAR ACADEMY 2008 - french version of "The One: Making a Music Star".

i hate that show. i have always hated it. but with Michael Jackson, i am affraid i will have to watch it next year :'(

sorry for the lack of mails and posts, i am working on "ENCHANTED" and it is asking me a lot of energy right now.

i am trying to finish the frontcover's colours at the moment :)

at the moment i am doing my best, working on "ENCHANTED" so it may be ready quickly.
i have finished a new page yesterday (put the tones today), thought about an idea for the covers' design, finished the back covers for the first issues and now i am about to start drawing the final front cover of the first issue.

here is a quick colour test i have just done, to have a little idea of what i would like to have. the final will be a CG-like illustration, just like the back covers.

i have to send all that to Serena so she may tell me if she likes or not, but i would like to finish the cover first as well as a new page, so tomorrow :)

besides, i have WAY too many things to tell her, it has been such a long time i have not been able to write her properly :'(

well actually, i have been able to finish the illustration before going to bed!
so here is THETIS, the illustration of the previously posted sketch :)

i have made a very few changes to the art but the whole thing was definitely one of the illustrations i had the most fun with XD

i was totally petrified when i started it as drawing more than heads is kind of hell for me, but though it is filled with mistakes, i feel more and more confident and i can see i have actually made some progress since i have been asked to leave Pivaut Art School.

i am on the right way, i have to draw more and more and more!

tomorrow and this weekend will be fully dedicated to "ENCHANTED"! i want to have tons of new things to send to Serena, hopefully with the cover :)

i need to go to bed now!

definitely THE film i am waiting for this year.

i have finally been able to put my hands on the DVDs of my absolute favourite animated show alongside "THE ANIMANIACS": "THE CRITIC"; so it made me want to draw a little Jay Sherman fanart XD

until now i had the downloaded episodes, some of them only being the cut versions. after so many years, it feels incredible to see new scenes of this show :)

and i have to say i am totally amazed by the DVD-box they released. the episodes' quality is fantastic, they included all the internet episodes made a couple of years ago, audio commentaries on the most important episodes as well as interviews, videos and informations about the making of the episodes. we even have a look at dozens of original arts, roughs, model sheets...

now i wonder if i should make some changes in my mobile phone's theme :s
i use a "THE CRITIC" theme i fully created & designed (backgrounds, menus, ringtones etc.), and maybe i should change a picture or two in it, now that i have all these new ones thanks to the DVDs...

well i should go on working now! i would like to start inking Thetis.

here is a little sketch for an illustration i am working on :)
i will surely correct some things on the final drawing but at least i have got an idea for the colours.

now it is 11:30pm and i think i should stop drawing a bit & relax. "ON N'EST PAS COUCHE" is starting on tv and as Florence Foresti is there, you can be sure i will watch it until the end this time haha! usually i just watch the show for Jean-Luc Lemoine. that man makes me laugh so much...

i have not been able to sleep a lot last night, but at least i was awake really early and immediately started to sketch as much as possible.

i am finally started to feel comfortable again with my drawings and it really makes me happy XD
those last few months were simply terrible. i could not draw, the few drawings i did were even worse than usual and it just kept me depressed.

things are slowly coming back to normal... though i can see how much work i need to improve haha! :p

but here is one of the very quick sketches i have done while working on the cover of "ENCHANTED" this morning.

now i think i should have lunch.... it is only 4:00pm after all haha!
(oh! just thinking that i have to ask Mikey if he received my texts, let's not forget that...)

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008 EVERYONE!!
i am finally back from Lyon, still a bit tired but doing ok :)

oh before i forget, do not worry if you have not received my christmas & new year card yet! i left Caen just before christmas in a total hurry, and i forgot all the addresses here :'( i will send them all this week so it may take 2 days for those who are in France and UK, and i guess a week for the USA and Japan.

i hope everyone spent some wonderful holidays and received some great christmas gifts :)
thanks to my dear friends Dadar & Stephanie and some members of my family, i can say i have been spoiled this year haha! many Disney gifts, another piece for my CLUEDO collection, a lot of chocolates...

anyway! things are slowly changing for me and so i have decided to change my LJ's design as well, with a new look and new icons (soon, i am working on them but "ENCHANTED" is my priority right now), and try to post and comment at least every two days.

no drawing to post yet, so i have decided to post this short video of one of my Masters, David Lynch, instead. there are no words to explain how much i love this guy and how much i share his point of view on that...

this is a little drawing of Bella from one of the pages of "ENCHANTED"#1.
the comics is in B&W but i wanted to put some colours on this picture and tried this afternoon :)

it is the first time for me i try an Anime CG-like method and, though i still need to work a lot on that, i have to say it was way funnier to do than what i expected!

except that nothing really new. i went to the store to make photos for some papers and they look awful because you can see my face on them XD

i have also decided to send illustrated christmas cards this year and so i bought some papers. i am now working on the illustrations i will put on these and write the 20 people i will send them to.

i am back, and you can not even imagine how wonky the last weeks have been for me XD
but things are starting to get better!

my heart and tension are just great, i am able to sleep correctly now though i never had such weird dreams (i should write some of them one day) and i am almost able to draw as i did before.

i just feel terrible i have not been able to write emails, especially to Serena, i have SO many things to tell her :'( but i am going to do it tonight.

i am now in Caen, staying with my fantastic friend's Dadar, and i have finally received the good news after so many problems and papers to fill: i can go to college this semester :D

my first choice was cinema class, unfortunately the classes are already full. but it worked for my second choice, english studies. so on monday, i will have to go there, sign everything and start working!

this is such a fantastic news for me, i will be able to work on comics, have enough money and go on learning, i LOVE that :p

anyway, here is a little doodle i did yesterday, right after finishing a page of "ENCHANTED". just a very quick fanart of Hikaru SHIDOU from CLAMP's manga "MAGIC KNIGHT RAYEARTH".

there is only one thing i can say: i love you mr. Burton :')

an illustration of "ENCHANTED" i have done yesterday.
it is only the lineart, but i am working on the colours (2 hours yesterday and maybe a bit today if i can finish a couple of pages first).

except that, not a lot of things. i have just spend the whole week working, watching films & tv shows. let's see...

"HEROES" started again and it is good to have it back (and not only because Greg Grunberg is even more handsome, i love that show).

"REAPER" made me laugh and Ray Leland Palmer Wise as the Devil is clearly one of the best choices someone ever made for a tv show since David Lynch asked him to be Laura's father. Mr. Nicholson and Ray Wise are the only men who can terrify me just by smiling...i love them :p

"FAMILY GUY" is back too and though i have never been a "STAR WARS" fan at all, it was one of my favourite episodes (THANK YOU MACFARLANE FOR USING "IT MIGHT BE YOU"!!!!)

"TWO AND A HALF MEN" did not start really well to me this season, but this show is fantastic, i am sure the next episodes will be as good as usual.

i still have to watch "BIONIC WOMAN" but at the moment, all i can think of is "DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES" is coming back. all day long, that is the only thing i can say: "desperate housewives...desperate housewives...i love you, marry me Marc Cherry....desperate housewives..." haha!

i also have a lot of films to watch or rewatch but i just can not find time :'( i just watched "OSS 117" i had not seen since it was released in theatres. definitely one of my favourite films. and i still have a long list including "BLUE VELVET" (it has been so long i have not seen it!), "ARACHNOPHOBIA", "BLACK SNAKE MOAN" with my dear Christina, "LA MOME" (i think it is "LA VIE EN ROSE" in english-speaking countries)...

a little doodle i have done 2 days ago, trying to imagine how september would look like if i had to make a character of this month :)

i have not done a lot of things except working on "ENCHANTED", a couple of NWS sketches i will post later as friends-only posts, and a quick meeting at the hospital so my doctor may see how i am feeling.

oh yes! i have also played a bit video games, going on "FINAL FANTASY VII: CRISIS CORE". fun to play. nothing exceptional, but fun. at the same time, i admit that FF7 is not my favourite FF at all (9, 12, 6 and 8 are), i guess that is the reason why i am not enjoying it as much as a fan would.

well, let me rewrite this; though it has never been my favourite, i used to LOVE FF7 when it was just a fantastic PS1 game. but ever since they started with all their CRISIS GENESIS DARK SEPHIROTH WE JUST WANT YOUR MONEY ADVENT MATERIA OF CERBERUS NO NEED TO MAKE REAL GAMES FANS WILL BUY ANY SHIT WITH FF7 WRITTEN ON IT FROM DARKNESS FINAL MIX INTERNATIONAL LET'S ADD GACKT TO SELL MORE EVEN THOUGH HIS CHARACTER GOT EVEN LESS CHARISMA THAN CHRIS CROCKER business, it lost all its interest to me.

if at least all those games were interesting...

well it was good to have FFXII. it felt just like if mr. Sakaguchi was back home. a deep, long and enchanting game just like in the good old time.

i guess i will have to buy an xbox360 if i want to find back this master's talent now...

i have finally finished it!

believe me, trying to put colours on an A3 illustration with such an old computer as mine, is NOT a funny thing to do at all.... but at least it is done now haha! XD

sorry if i have not been able to reply comments or post some for the moment, working on this illustration and on the pages of "ENCHANTED" took me a lot of time those last few days, and i have not been a lot on the net.

i really need to have something to eat...
